Gino Cargnel

Looking for information on a Kreighoff K-32 I have that was engraved and signed by G. [Gino] Cargnel. Not only was it beautifully engraved the receiver was also scallop where the stock meets up with the receiver. Along side of the trigger on the tang: J. L. Dock WILLER CO. SP. D. 3 has been stamped. I have want I assume to be the original forearm checkered in Dock's style, but I don't have the stock. I would like more information on who scalloped the receiver, and does anyone know where I can find a Dock Willer stock for it?

Ray, Gino was a friend of mine.
As you no doubt know he was trained in Belgium and worked there for many years.
Both he and Angelo Bee moved here and set up their individual engraving practices in the San Fernando and Semi Valleys near Los Angeles.
Both of them were good metal smiths and sometimes scalloped the rear of shotgun receivers, mainly over and under's that they engraved.
Gino was a very good artist as well as a fine engraver and I believe one or more of his sons still live in the LA general area. Docwiller built a lot of custom stocks for Gino and Angelo.
Angelo still engraves and may know of a stockmaker who can build you a stock for your gun.
A Google search should put you in touch with Angelo.

Thank you John, I've post photos of this gun on many sites and taken it to different gunsmiths and dealers in the San Antonio area and no one has ever seen a K-32 receiver scalloped. I will try and get ahold of Angelo and hopefully he can point me in the right direction. I shoot the gun on occasion and it is joy to show it to others; however, it would be nice to have it back to it's original state or close to it. Once again thank you for the information, and l am sorry for the loss of your friend Mr. Cargnel.
