Here's a massive 18k gold signet ring I just completed. It measures 25mm across the top and feels like it weighs a ton.

Sam,

A splendid piece of work in design and execution, and looking so crisp at high magnification! Like Roland, I am curious about your light tent arrangement? What is the coat of arms, I know it is not a Cameron crest.

Thanks folks :)

Chris: Yes, it's a die struck signet ring from Church & Co.

Roland: The photo was taken with my standard setup of a 34" Westcott fluorescent softbox. I put the ring on a piece of printer paper and made a couple of paper reflectors to to kill the side reflections. Camera is a Canon 5D Mark II with 150mm macro lens.

Rod: The coat of arms is for the family name RUSS

This is my lighting setup, which hasn't changed much in 20 years other than I now use daylight fluorescent bulbs instead of tungsten.

The object laid on the white artboard background from the craft store and I used a couple of folded white sheets of paper to help kill the dark reflections from the room. The camera is set to aperture priority shooting at ISO100 @ f22.
