I wanted to pop in and say hello and good morning everyone. I have been watching, reading and when I get the chance and time, practicing. The women and men of this forum are truly the best. I saw one picture of an engraved zippo lighter and this habit started and now down the rabbit hole I go. The two pictures are the results of the knowledge and encouragement you guys give. I know they are but simple things but to me they are a confirmation that I can engrave, very beginning but enthusiastically practicing. I bought the beginner kit, hammer and chisel by Mr. Alfano and now I’m hooked. Again, thank you all for the knowledge and encouragement to strive to make beautiful engravings that all of you guys and gals do. Take care.
Sip.

that is a great way to start learning this art. it gives one the "feel" for what your tool is doing. diligence in practice will only bring improvement. dont forget the pencil. drawing must go hand in hand with your actual cutting practice. i wish you good luck in the pursuit of the art.
