For those who don't understand. Fond Creux is French for "background removed" I personly had the Gun in my hand, Mr Martens is a real specialist in background removing, the background he removes is super flat and nice deep when you turn it you see the edges nice shining. About Belgium/Liégoise (is more correct) style engraving some tips; perfect background removed, perfect scrolls, use the shape of the gun to draw the ornament . And if you have a good look the leafs are elegant, fine, but SIMPLE!!! Keep your scroll design simple not to much leafs, leaf some space! And a perfect scroll. And what you get is Pure Elegance. For those who can tell more about the Liégoise style engraving feel free also to correct me. I'm just a student engraving which need to learn still a lot!
