I am going to try to enroll in the engraving course @ Trinidad community college. Has anyone gone to any of the courses @ that facility are they as well equipped as the GRS Training Center? Has been a student of MR. Rabeno?
I've not been a student of Marty Rabeno, but I can assure you that you'll be in excellent hands. Marty is a very fine and knowledgable engraver and an excellent instructor.
Guess I'm the one to best answer this question.
The course curriculum in Trinidad is the same as in Emporia. The only slight differences in this would be determined by the abilities of the students. You are using GRS equiptment and the student packages are the same as i determine what is in them according to my teaching style.
Now there are a fer major differences which might affect you class location choice.
For many including myself Trinidad is closer to home.
The classes are held in workshop type classrooms as opposed to a state of the art teaching facility.
The biggest difference which may or may not be a factor here is the lack of microscopes. Some people need them to see and work. I havent had this as a problem and neither have my students thus far but for some it can be an issue
The people in both places are great to be around
Hope this helps a bit
Marty aka Mr Rabeno....but nobody calls me that
Phoneman,
I am a graduate of Trinidad, all be it a long time ago. The class room have not changed any. I have attended two class at GRS and will attend one in Many and hopefully another this year. I also have to say I live only 68 miles from GRS. Having said that I like facilities at GRS over those in Trinidad. Depending on where you live in Ok, the distance may be the same.
