Wanted to get the word out I am teaching a one week class at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. The school is an interesting place to come with many other classes going on in other studios. The engraving class this year is in early february. The school has a website where you can see all the classes, teacher's bios and class descriptions at www.folkschool.org.

We will be covering setup and sharpening of gravers and learning to cut. A variety of techniques and styles will be demonstrated and taught, from simple texturing to highly-ornamental lettering and scrollwork. We won't be using gravermeisters, only hand gravers, the old time way. Can bring in a gravermeister for demonstrating, as they are so widely used now. Maximum class size is 8. Beginners and those with experience can be accomodated. If you need more information, feel free to call me Tom Patterson at 828-494-7037.
