Has anyone ever tried to engrave a remington 700 action?

Hi,
I have a safari rifle that i built for myself in 375 H&H and wanted to do some engraving on the barrel, scope rings, receiver, and bottom metal. Has anyone ever attempted engraving one of these?

I did the bottom metal on a 700 Rem. No real issues other than some tin spots that you musrt support with thermaloc. Also be aware of these thin spots with any inlay you have in mind. Customer said he was going to bring the rifle back for additional work but have not heard from him again. Fred

I assume this is the blued model? The action will engrave nicely. What kind of bottom metal do you have on it? The factory bottom metal is aluminum on but a very select few. It will engrave as well but not real crisp. Most brands of mounts and rings will engrave just fine.

I regularly engrave a local gunmaker's company name and caliber on Remington 700 actions with no problems.
