i wanted to hold a rifle receiver for layout & engraving. this thing just wouldn't allow itself to orient properly. wouldnt clamp proper with leather or felt pads. i didn't want to take time to carve wood blocks. i didn't want to fiddle with jet set.my lightbulb came on ! i formed up some large wads of aluminum foil, the stuff crush formed around the irregularities of the part. it orients incrementally just the way i want the piece. it's a cheap and quick way to clamp a part that might otherwise give you a bit of a headache. try it, you'll like it !

Wow! I've been wondering what to do with the wrapper from my Philly Cheese Steak. Now I know.
