Medieval metal worked seem to have loved using punches for decorative work. If it could be done with a punch they wood. Where are you at? I know there is a medieval coin die engraving class in St Louis this weekend. But I know of several medieval style coin makers around that would love to show you the tecniques of making and using the right tools.
