Question: illustration software and file format

I am a new member and I would appreciate some advice. What illustration software does a signet ring engraver prefer for their submitted artwork.

And welcome to the forum.

Perhaps a little more information may be helpful..........I would say that it would depend on the engraver and what software they are used to (if any at all)

Sometimes I'll create the outline of the shield in Illustrator and transfer to the ring, but after that everything is drawn by hand. It's nice having a symmetrical shield to start the layout with. Nothing wrong with drawing one, but it's a bit quicker to us Illustrator or CorelDRAW.
