The de Waal collection is very nice.
Here is one from one of my favorite artists, Morita Soko. It is probably not much more that 1.5 inches long, carved from a single piece of Boxwood.

BTW in Japanese, singular and plural are the same, so it's netsuke whether you're talking about one or more.
