I want to try some inlay, I've never tried it but I'm pretty sure I've got the idea...(famous last words). I need to know what and where to buy the inlay metal and any other tips anyone may have.

thanks Dave

Rio Grande sells 22 and 24k in any size you would want. If you are inlaying silver use fine silver and not .925.

I agree, i practice with fine silver, there are cheaper options for practice but when you're buying wire 20 dollars of silver might get you 20 feet are more depending on the gauge more than enough to practice with. awesome learning experiance it has been.

practice with a few inches of common copper wire. once you're comfy with the procedure, go for the good stuff. i think there's a resource in the tip section. for sources of materials. you could also get needed supplies at rio grande jewelry supply
