Question: Inlay

buying a new kimber crimson ultra carry II it has a black slide and sliver frame thinking about doing a sliver inlay on slide and want to do a black inlay on the frame

Does anyone know how to put in black inlay instead of gold or sliver ect....

Wouldn't it look just as good with engraving with black paint for background and shading?

it would look good but i want to be able to engrave detail on the inlay

The metal on the bottom engraves well. I haven't cut their blued metal.

I don't know what type of metal you are talking about. If the "silver" were stainless, you could inlay soft iron and run it through a bluing tank.

I personally use carbide and have for years now. Do you know what metal is used in the frame?

The frame is SS with a flat finish. I use C-max on the Kimbers I've done.
