Prof. Brehpohl was a german master goldsmith and taught apprentice goldsmithes after WW2 for several decades. He wrote the book cited in the article as textbook for the apprentices. It became the standard textbook in both halves of Germany (a rare occasion) and is still used in goldsmith schools. I got my copy as a teen 45 years ago, it brougth me on the way of jewelry making.
His descendents are stil in the jewelry business in north-east Germany.
