Hello all
My name is Dave. I am new to the forum and a newbie to engraving. I have had an interest in engraving for about 30 years but did'nt get serious about practicing till a little over a year ago. Now I am hooked. I have been a hobby blacksmith and machinist for about 35 years and love to make tools. I much appreciate forum members willingness to share there knowledge and I hope I can contribute as well I am doing hammer and chisel and a little push engraving practice. Thank you

welcome. a knowledge of heat treating, as you have, will allow you to make all the gravers you want. store bought are much more convenient, as they come in graded sizes and shapes. now is the best time ever for a newbie to try this art. so much info in print and video, there's little excuse for not becoming successful.

Thanks for the welcome. I am honored to be a part of the forum, and eager to learn. Please bear with me as I am not very internet savvy. Thanks again
