Just finished this for a friend. He had her for 16 years and lost her this year. I did know her, and am proud to say i believe i did her justice. Thanks for looking. And hope everyone is well.

wow, very nice! i'd suggest more contrast in your scroll background, but otherwise that's outstanding, especially the dog. try a heavier outline around the background spaces, then with a very short heeled graver dive deeper into the parallel lines. it's surprising what a nice clean contrasting background can be achieved this way. Lynton McKenzie did quite a few that way.

Thank you Mitch! Yeah, the background was the one thing I wasn’t 100% on. I didn’t want a super hard line around the dog, but your suggestion makes would of been it. Always next time i guess. Hahahaha. Thank you for the kind words also.

A bold hard line can be just the thing in some situations. On this pistol I used it to create a 'stained glass' effect for a religious theme. It might work well on a memorial article like your dog portrait.
