Just a bit of fun, a one off, (hope you don't mind Sam!) my backing track and lead although the sound has lost quite a lot using the camera mic.

It's a copy of an early 60's tune by the Shadows called Flingel Bunt. Instruments used:- 1964 Burns Marvin, Fender Jazz Bass and BFD2 drums.

For an old rocker you still got it. I fool with the Acid sound products and could generate some interesting and entertaining licks but not real music. your still a professional musician. You seem to have lead a charmed life. So many successful endeavors. Fine arts artist. Even as a car painter. Father, Husband, philosopher, mentor and the man that sets the engraving bar on a daily basis. And most important to me inspiration and internet friend. Thank you for what you do and enjoy your music very much.

I had a student who was fascinated with the Acid software and now is disk jockey of original music all generated from his computers. Gets lots of booking and works with some big name bands like REM to create wonderful music though he plays no instruments himself and the bands could not product this sound without him. New day my friend. Fred

Great Phil, seems a lot of us engravers also are musicians or at least they did.
I think, once you know how to rock, you always will rock!

Thanks guys, yes been there and have done it all, it started with the Shadows instrumentals, then, Beatles, Stones, Who, Deap Purple, Uriah Heep, etc. etc. Just about everything including cabaret. I've been out of bands for many years now but have come back full circle as I'm now re-creating the old Shadows tunes as close as possible to the originals, warts and all, it's a nostalgic thing.:)

I saw Uriah heep at winter land for my 13th birthday party in 1973 I think it was.
Had all their albums starting with Salisbury.
Mick Box was quite something back in the day.

Don't forget us Texicans can also be somewhat musically inclined.
The band that I was in was a spinoff of Herb Alpert's "Tijuana Brass".
We were the "Tijuana Trash!". Trumpet here. Waaah Wah!
Around the 20 year H.S. reunion, we reunited in the school auditorium for a "Blast from the Past!".
It was a blast alright!
You ever listen as you pass by the nursing home on your evening stroll, hours after the old folks have had "Mexican" for lunch.
Well, you get the idea.
We made a LOT of noise and stunk to high Heaven!
