Hi everyone,
I am curious if there are any Canadians here that use Lindsay gravers and if so, how did you end up getting them to Canada without a 400usd shipping quote?
I would prefer a Lindsay set up over GRS due to space requirements etc. But at 400USD shipping/ duties and taxes it seems almost impossible to justify vs GRS.
Are there anyways around it? Don't really know anyone stateside to ship it to and reship with USPS or similar. So doesn't look like that is an option.

Thanks for the replies

Sadly, that is the reality for most non US based customers, always has been (regardless of what you may have heard in recent months.....) and not just with Lindsay - any proper supplier I've dealt with over the years (Rio grande, Engraverdotcom, Ottofrei etc) I had to pay shipping (often excessive mind you) and our local taxes. Actually, duty is only added if shipped with fedex/ups/dhl or similar courier company. You can certainly try and ask the seller if they can ship via USPS/Canadapost since they do not charge duties on such supplies to individuals or small businesses - only flat "handling fee" of $ 9.95. My last month's Rio order of about $2500 had just the said handling fee, no duty but GST of nearly $300. You will still have to pay GST (or HST depending where you live in Canada) - if getting anything from local jewellery supply stores.
Lindsay has shipped things to me before with USPS, they were always curtieous to deal with and willing to work with me, does not hurt to ask them.
If you cannot get anybody to help you in way that chrishiggins said - then you are in the same situation as many of us.

Thank you for the reply Farmer. Will give Lindsay another try, and hope he can accomodate USPS and if not will just go with GRS since Gesswein carries them here in Canada.
And I am fully aware of GST etc being added, which would be similar to buying local. Appreciate the advice

Hello laki, I am in Canada and just received my Lindsay engraver that I ordered 1,5 years ago, so be prepared to be on a long wait list. But have to add that it is worth it. By the time you receive it all this nonsense between our countries should have blown over.
