Mr. Alfano:
I've harbored an interest in engraving for decades but have not often found myself in a situation to give it the long term commitment it needs. I'm trying to redress that now.
In the late 1980's or early 1990's I had the opportunity to meet Lynton MacKenzie and take a workshop introduction to engraving from him as part of the NMLRA gunbuilding seminar series in Bowling Green, KY. I collected some handouts that Lynton but together for the workshops that described his tools and sharpening procedures. I could scan copies if you think it would be appropriate to archive them on the engravers' cafe forum. I don't know if there would be any copyright issues, especially with the book on Lynton's work recently published, but were he alive today, I can't imagine that he would object.
Anyway, let me know what you think and if you are interested, the best way to get the scanned files to you.
Cheers!
