Hello everyone. I was in need a a good scribe and didn't have the time to go to grizzly to get one I had a few of the short ones that are stuck in the end of combination squares I was going to turn me a handle on my wood lathe but I got the idea to stick it in a pen that a friend gave me I tried it and it was the perfect size to fit threw the end all I had to do was grind the brass end down a bit and take the ink cartridge out. Then I cut a pice of copper to hold the scribe in place so far it works great. Thought I wood share it. My photos are not the best sorry

Thanks monk. I sure did round it over. I read on here to do that and it works awesome. before it just dug in or follow the sanding grit lines. I have been working with copper and wasn't sanding it fine enuff and was having problems with getting a good pattern. Now I am polishing it out and I am having a lot better luck. I love learning new stuff. I have been talking with my family and they may help me go to a engraving school here in Springfield, Mo that is put on by Jim Downing. I just have to get better be for I can cuz I have a very bad back and cannot set very long. I hope I can get there soon. I am really enjoying engraving. And I only have makeshift tools. I can only imagine what it is like with proper tools
