Everyone, does anyone have xperience with this one? I didn't see any reference to it in the "cut or don't cut" sticky. I would be doing reciever only.
thanks,
Kent

If you have it annealed, it will be easier to hand polish, it will cut easily and it will take a better color case. Be sure not to buff this action prior to color casing. Ken

Ken, the reciever has been surface ground down and it is cast not forged 1886 model was on the reciever.
Its (reciever) has been bubbacized & mistreated but it is still sound.

Kent, sounds as if this was a 22 action. Ballard some years back made the decision not to re-color case the cast actions due to some cracking. Perhaps you should have an origional nic. plating applied or carbonia blue. Ken

Kent,

I have always heard the term "bubbacized" but have never before seen it in print. Thank you for clarifying the spelling of this important engraving term for me.

Weldon, bubbacizing occurs when said indivdual attempts something , usually gun work, and has no idea what it's supposed to look like or how to execute it. Kinda like giving an M-1 Garand a lacquer finish so it "looks good".
