The opposite side of the building where the sun doesn't hit the building has some cracks that need tuck pointing. It takes a lot of money to keep a grand building like this going. The KEM Shrine Circus is one of our main ways of funding for it. After the big Flood of 1997 when the lower auditorium flooded, some people actually mentioned we should demolish it. Luckily, that didn't happen. My son is a 5th Generation KEM Shriner so, our family has some deep roots in this grand building. I hope it continues for another century.
That is wonderful info Worshipful, my son is the 27 openair degreed Master in Michigan, people fly in for this event. It's held in the same place consistantly, the PM has a air strip adjacent to the woods. IT is truly a wonderful thing. JD Welfare 517. F&AM Mi.
