Motifs & animals- shouldn’t they face forward?

I´m not good at all to engrave or even draw animals so I havent done many yet, but in general I would say it´s a weight/balance thing.. whatever would look more right in the exact design for the item is the best way to face it, but I think I normally I often think it looks more "correct" when it´s facing forward. :)

Above is a Browning A-5 I did for a client who wanted turkeys as you can see not all are facing towards the front of the gun. Two of the turkeys are facing each other ready to do battle.
