Getting much better. But there is still a lot of room for just scroll backbones even in that plate. In different sizes, clockvise and counter. So fill it up. The importance of cutting just the backbones is that it allows you better to see any kinks and flats or other flaws there might be. I know from the experience that it’s boring to cut bare backbones. But you will be rewarded. Then you can start to focus on getting the leaves and related stuff just right. Keep cutting!
You might find it useful to cut from the inside of the scroll backbone working out to where it would start or connect to another scroll. This is sometimes useful for turning the vice into the graver with more comfort, and less stopping to readjust the hand for turning the vice.
The readjustment of the hand is centering issue as I'm sure others have the same problem. I cut inside out so pretty much waiting for a chunk of money for Steve's true center vice
Use your dividers and scribe concentric circles on a practice plate and practice cutting circles. Just a suggestion, You will get much more practice out of one plate.
