IMG_1274.jpeg IMG_1275.jpeg Needing help, does anyone recognize these initials or the engraving? This is a small amount of the work on this 1930 piece and we are trying to get more history on this piece. If you recognize anything, I would appreciate your help!

Not going to be of much help here, that said there are a couple things that stick out to me, first thing is that those "initials" look stamped not the normal method an engraver would use to sign their work, second thing is that the method of engraving looks to be hammer and chisel versus air assist.

Good luck in your search for information, more pictures would certainly help.

I think Winchester sometimes marked lower tangs in that area. That could be confirmed on the Winchester Collector forum.
