Hey everyone
My name is K-li, I'm a student currently enrolled at Revere academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco. I have been learning about engraving at school, and when I return home I wish to really practice and immerse myself in the art of engraving :)

I found your forum while searching the web for an engravers block, so I can practice what I've learned at Revere... (I'm trying to find one that isn't gonna break the bank)

I'll probably just post questions ocassionally. I'm not the kind to post very much, I'm more of the "background lurky-type" and I'm sure I'll learn a lot just from reading these threads :)

Welcome!

There are many sizes, and of course that affects the price, what are you going to be engraving 90 percent of the time?

depending on what that would be is what you would buy.

welcome-- a decent, used block will likely "break the bank". a new one a bit more. there are home brewed
ways to get around the price problem. check the tips section for alternatives for engraving blocks.to this day, i find occasional use for a "bowling ball vise". ugly as sin, but it can work. good luck to you.
