When I took my basic class, Layne called us all around to observe him while he was cutting. He was cutting, stopped, and stuck his graver into a small container, and then continued cutting.

I asked him what he had just done. "it's cutting oil." He said.

Then it occurred to me...Ahhh....cutting oil. As in cutting metal.

That has never left my mind and I try to keep my graver oiled.

So how many of you out there, use cutting oil when your working?

Thanks in advance.

baby oil, kerosene,3 in one, racquefratzium sulfate. they all work, more or less. sam got it right. if you develop a sense of the feel of what you're doing, there is a bit of difference. with the use of the power toys, i think the feel for the work gets lost in the vibration. the feel is most noticeable in push work.
