Old book inscription

I picked this up from an old book dealer online and was happy to find some inscriptions. I found them interesting and thought I'd share. This an original from 1892.

I think the first is from Norway or something.

Looks like it belonged to someone living in Minnesota. Nothing to suggest Norway.

Heen and Ringerike are places in Norway. Ringerike is also a style of Nordic engraving. Google images has pictures.

I found the introduction to be very progressive for 1892. I love it.

This is my current reading material. I try to get originals when I can but I don't feel guilty about writing in the reprints. Only a couple of weeks until my class and I want to know what questions to ask.

American published book with a Minnesota jeweler's "stamp",Last name on inscription is Guldbrandsen.Family name has had jewelers for at least 40 years locally.I'll ask one of them next time i see them.

I have to start taking some supplements for my memory. Just a month or two ago, I remember reading these, and other, pages in a book that was either on the Cafe site, or in my collection of books somewhere. . .guess I'll have to start tearing the house apart to confirm, or deny, the latter scenario. Maybe someone out there remembers reading these pages other than in the current posting? That might confirm some of my suspicion. If I don't make an effort to look for the text, I probably would come across it, like other things that show up, unannounced.

Holy moly! I only paid $38 for mine. My father in law was a sign painter in the old school style before he died. My mother in law say I can have his style books if I like. Can't wait to go through them.
