I started with calligraphy and drawing, then leatherwork, then chipcarving in wood, then glass engraving, then metal engraving. I've gotten myself some enamels but as yet have no oven or torch and I am keen to do some clear enamels over engraving and have set myself up with a small torch and silver soldering kit and a heap of stones wanting to try some jewellery making and engraving and make somethings start to finish that I'm really happy with. pm me if you'd like my email to chat. I'm trying to get back to getting on here often. :)

I came into an entire glass fired enameling setup. The original owner passed from breast cancer and these items were destined for the dump, as her widower married a woman 30 years younger and she didn't want to see "his dead wife's stuff" in "her house". It will cost me nearly a grand to wire my garage so I can even plug in the kiln. I am not ready... And the examples I've seen with torch firing is not the look I would want. Cloisonne and glass fusing in general is astoundingly complex. A lot of research is necessary before I would even begin to mess with what I have. It could be many years before I crack into this stuff.
