parchment transfer

If you are using baking parchment for transfers and having trouble with paper jams, here is what I do. First cut the paper to size and roll it backwards and paper clip it on the ends with paper clips. Let the roll sit for while. This will help it lay flat. Then I sand the leading edge of the parchment with 220 sand paper. This removes the silicon to where you apply tape. If you don't remove the silicon, the tape will not hold and the printer will pull the parchment loose and cause a paper jam. I like ink jet transfers but my inkjet died and I have been using parchment for a while. I gives good transfers but to me it is not the best way to transfer. It is helpful in proper positioning but not as good as a transparency.

What I do is:
I print the image on the paper. Then I know where it will be.
Then I cut out some baking parchment and use painters tape to tape it over the image.
Then print again but now it will be on the baking parchment.
The painters tape is easy to remove from the paper without tearing it.
No jams yet.
