Period style engraving on a Colt 1851 Navy

Some typical Colt style work on a 2nd generation Colt 1851 Navy. Nothing fancy, just plain old engraving. Finished in what I call my "vintage finish" with antique nickel backstrap & trigger guard. The client wanted it to look aged….so, that's the look! It's a graduation gift to his son who's currently in the Naval Academy.

That's ties everything together. I like it a lot.

I like the Opentop Colts. The 1873 is clunky in comparison. The 1851 has the classic and hardy look and the 1860 Army is simply the most gorgeous handgun ever. But that's only my opinion.
