Since I just begged for help on soldering I thought I'd try and give a little... I have done a fair amount of Photography over the years and have made a homemade setup to take studio quality images. The following is a link to a tutorial that show you how you can build your own setup. This is very similar to what I have, mine is just a bit deeper than this. I generally take the images then do my final edits in photoshop but this should help with your photos considerably.

Basically you can take the image with any camera, but the idea of a lightbox is you don't have to have a flash. The floodlights primarily help balance the light for you. You may have to play with the exposure time a bit to get the background to come out white. If your first attempt comes out with a grey background to the image try and set your exposure longer. I generally shoot at 1 sec or more exposure. Also a tripod is a must! You can get one at Target that will serve the purpose.

I'll try and take a picture of some spurs or a bit to show an actual representation but for now here is a product I recently did.

Hi Justin. Welcome to the forum.
Thanks for posting your photo tip. That looks like a very effective setup for tabletop photography. I also use a light box similar to this one.
