After doing a practice plate I can now go back to trying to learn to cut decently. Tight turns are extremely hard for me as my graver control is bad and the tip digs in. Back to cutting circles and curves. I am glad I am a patient person so practice does not bother me
Nicely done. if this is early work.
Do it again and cut away the background on the next one.
Also use it to get a start on your shading practice.
Keep going. it's looking good, lets see more from you.
DDriller, When cutting scrolls I stand over the work at a pedestal and found that my scrolls are nice and round with no flat or elbows what tools are you using? J.J.
Thank you JJ. I am using a Pulse Graver, 116 degree graver, with a Lydsay turntable and vice. Haven't been doing it very long. Getting started late in life at the age of 70.
