Printer and ink suggestions for transfers

My old printer is not doing the job it used to and I'm going to by a new one. I am looking for your suggestions. I use Pictorico sheets with Prismacolor 40% gray markers to make my transfers. My HP ENVY 5540 with 62 ink has worked fine last week but no so now. Lets hear from all you that use transfers and what you use. I would also like to hear about any printers that have not worked well or gave disappointing results. Suggest which to stay away from and which ones get a 5 star rating.

HP ink jet and genuine HP ink. Refills don't work to well. Tom White transparencies. Pictorios work well also. The ink can get too old sometimes also. Get your ink from HP it's cheap and fast.

I've found that if you stick to hp, black seperate and a tri color cart. 5055, really any of the 5000 series are pretty good, make sure that you can run it on ONE cartridge.....the black of course, I refill with bdh ink and it appears to do a good job. Hope this helps. paps
