Jeff, Like what you've done so far looks good are you going to engraving the side's? these single shot rifle's are nice to engrave. J.J.

Thanks J.J., yes… do you know if theses are plated or case hardened? I’ve done a bit of filing and sanding to clean it up but it has a hard surface, once you get past that it’s like butter. I have tried to research but not a lot of information.
Here is a plate I did trying to work out the designs and issues I might run into. I really wanted to see if I could inlay the rabbit with silver, I have never attempted anything like this before. (again sorry if the pic is poor)

Thank you Dani but I still have much to learn myself, pretty sure I could learn from you. I am apprehensive when it comes to doing some things at times but have slowly come to realize it is “Do or do not. There is no try.”

Thanks Leland, I thought about doing inlay rabbit and hunting dog on the sides originally but decided to do just on the butt plate.
