RetiCAM iPhone (smartphone) tripod head

I just got this nicely made tripod head that holds iPhones and other smartphones. I mounted it to my tripod and positioned it over the microscope eyepiece and made a test shot. It works really well and is very nicely machined from aluminum. There are times when I want to shoot a short iPhone video or mount the phone on a tripod for still photos, and this does the trick. I ordered the size for the iPhone 6 Plus. Other sizes are available. I purchased it on Amazon.

I've been thinking about using my 3D printer to make something like that. I'll have to look and see if can afford the better one for my phone. Another use for your smartphone is impromptu demos - I have an app that turns my phone into a webcam. Pair that with your computer's screen and you can set up a way for folks to see what you're doing pretty quick.
