Question: What scope angle is acceptable for engraving. Str8 up & down hurts my neck. Tried many different seating positions - still no go. Been jewelerin under a scope for many years, no neck problems with my scope set-up for setting stones. Can you engrave accurately with your scope at an angle? Maybe 15 to 20deg. angle solves my neck problems. Thanks, Jack

Yes, it's about practice as in my case, I tilt the ball vise accordingly so that the work surface is perpendicular to the scope lens.

i dont think a numerical angle exists. your bench, the scope, your chair, and all the goodies you commonly reach for will (or should) determine this "angle". to be situated in such a place must be done in comfort. one must think thru all this to work in comfort . sitting for 8 hours without total regard for ergonomics is arecipe for many aches and pains.
