Looking good but grow the outside work from the spine as opposed to along it. What you're creating is a double spine and it looks plain wrong and clumsy. It's not too bad in the bottom picture but you are still doubling up on the spin slightly. However, in the bottom pic those inside work leaves are still projecting forwards which looks spiky and unattractive. Much better over all though, well done.

Night and day improvement over the last examples. As Marcus said lose the double stems. Think of it as a vine. Each curl grows out of the previous one, not parallel to it for the full length.

OK I was just following what I( thought ) I saw Sam doing. Was trying to make it look like the leaves were growing from behind the other. Thanks I will work on those issues some more.

To my opinion the two scrolls in the upper photo have each theyre own stem and this is also the case in the bottom picture, with the two large scrolls in the middle.

Listen to Sams Video again. He explains and shows. Use the pause button to get a better look .

Btw I think they are 200 or 300 percent better. Keep working and you will get it.

OK . I'm just s little confused. In Sam's DVD he shows where to start another scroll element coming off the main backbone. Then later shows and said sweep the leaf element way back then connect to the main backbone this is the first leaf on the scroll growing off the big main scroll. So how else would you connect the scrolls without the growing scroll looking to abrupt coming off the main

Hi Jared

I have attached a couple of things for you to think about. Look at what I have done and read it along with the comments Marcus has made.

Your doing fine. None of this is easy and you have a lot to absorb and this just time plus a lot of drawing and cutting. Get plenty of practice plates and do a mixture of drawing and cutting.

Cheers
Andrew
