Silver Bookmark

Hello,

Here’s a picture of a silver bookmark I engraved after the Vectornator design I recently posted in “Digital art”. I’m aware that it’s far from perfect and is also far away from the styles of gun or knife engraving.

Thanks for Your positive feedback!

This ones is 0.8mm or 1/32“ thick. It is the first one, let‘s see how well it works. It‘s dimensions are 55x12.5 mm, it feels pretty heavy. I might try 0.6 mm next time. From my feeling 0.6 might work for single sided engraving. If somebody wants an engraving on the backside as well I‘ll stick to 0.8mm.

I cold-roll the silver (actually, this one is made out of Argentium) to at least 50% thickness reduction after the last annealing in order to work-harden it. It did cut very easy. Even tough there are many very tiny radii I did not break the 105° high-speed steel gravers point. All the longer cuts are shiny.
