Silver bowl

This is a golf tournament trophy for Cambridge University alumni. Talk about an awkward thing to engrave. The hand-push no-microscope guys have an advantage on these jobs because you can hold it in your lap or brace it on your workbench. Since I rarely work that way I use my Gravermach and held it in a cardboard box stuffed with a beach towel.





Laying out the guidelines for the letters using transfer wax and turning the bowl against the pencil.





I did the 2014 line.

Be glad you weren't asked to do the 2018 or 2019 lines...

Are they gonna try to go to 2020 before they pop for another bowl?

Try filling the box with beans and then place the towel on top ...gives a little more support

Everybody impressed about how you did line and nobody say how difficult to "jump" around those lines to cut the beautiful letters. I know - it is a very hard work.

Sam. Nice work. Yes I feel that sometimes figuring out how to build a jig to hold large items for engraving is the most difficult part.
