Critique Request Sketch of a future project

Hi everybody! Thanks for looking. Here’s a little something I’m working on. It’s going to be another pendant with a leaf cypher letter L. I got the letter itself from a pattern book with some slight modifications. All the shading I did myself. How does it look? Im a little worried that the shading is overdone. I’m probably just overthinking it as usual Lol.

I thought about adding cross hatching to the darker areas and to the leafs but I don’t know to make it work and not make the piece look flat. have you got any tips?

here‘s an update on the design. Ive traced over it and tried adding cross hatching to try and give it more depth
