Found a couple of old pics

The first picture was in one of the photo booths that were popular in the 1960's. That picture was from 1966 when I was 13 years old.

The second picture was in 1970 when I was 16 years old. The reason for the jacket and tie was that it was my High School yearbook picture.

This has been fun seeing my colleagues at different times of their lives. I guess I kind of started this by using an old picture of me in Vietnam for an avatar so I'll add some others.

The first one was taken in Texas in about 1948. I always wanted to be a cowboy:)
Next shows me with our 1950 Ford in 1957.
Third was taken at Whiteman AFB Missouri in 1964. I was in the Air Police and guarded Neuclear weapons.
Fourth was taken unexpectedly by my uncle at the Ohio Gun Collectors show in about 1977. I have only had a beard twice in my life. The other time when I was on an undercover assignement in law enforcement.

Hey Ron- You look like Marty Robbins in the 1990 pic- could explain your musical virtuosity.

Arnaud- good to see another bass playing engraver! ...and a Bob Dylan look at 17!

Roger- You look rather formidable in your Air Force Police uniform...thanks for serving.

Fred, so you are another bass playing engraver. I thought Sam was also a bass player? Isn't it? :D

Perhaps we can do a poll to see who didn't play the bass. :D

Arnaud, Sam's forte is the banjo, but he is also good on guitar and can certainly play bass when the need arises. Check out his website for some pictures of Sam & the band from (dare I say?) decades ago. He is a man of many creative talents.
My guess is that there are a lot of engravers who can play bass, but I don't know how many would admit it. There are times when I have had to carry the bass around that I wished I had learned to play the flute.

I found these old photos of me holding a large hammer and chisel from the 1960's, me in the Marine Corps 1968 and playing my drums that came from the Perry Como show... 1964.

Back in the day

Great photos Roger; you started something.
Here's one of me and some of my mates when music was the most important thing in our lives.

What a neat idea for a thread, I thoroughly enjoyed looking at everybody's pictures.

This is the only picture I have of myself except drivers license photo, could not get scanner to pick it up.

Picture taken about 1966 while I was working as second officer (Engineer) for Flying Tiger Airline.

This post looks like fun so here goes.
#1. Had black hair in 1962.
#2. I'm on #14 Estaval. Going down to the start on at Fontwell Park, Sussex, England
in 1947. While you all played music I played with the nags.
#3. Steeplechase race, Worcester, England 1948. Up on Flying Pal.
He's the good looking one closest to the camera.

Years Back

This is a very intrusting thread, seeing it is not about engravimg I feel I can enter in, as I am not an engraver but a knife maker that should have done some engraving, not sure of the year 1953-54-55 the bike on the left is a triumph tr 6 650 cc the other is a triumph trophy 500 cc. I was racing cycles and doing custom cars at the time. I am amazed at the people that started engraving at a young age and stayed with it. A great thing.
