It really Amazes me that all of you really great engravers on this forum and Steve Lindsays forum are so willing to spend your precious time to share what has taken you years to learn. I know these forums have helped me more than i can say,I dont have the funds or the time to be able to attend a class at this point and if not for these forums i prolly would have thrown in the towell by now.
So i want to say thank you to Steve & Sam and all of the rest of you who share your passion with the rest of us so unselfishley!!!
Steve

It was and is our life, and it is love that we share it. Love always works!....we enjoy each other in a spiritual bond of understanding. Ain't that what it is all about anyway?...Thanks to you guys who appreciate the teachers, on behalf of all the others who are sharing. We appreciate you too! You have raised us up to magnificent heights. Thank you!.................Ron S

I'm really looking forward to taking my class from Marty week after next - there are some things that you just about have to see in person. But there's so much that you can learn from listening to / watching those who know what they're doing!

Sure, some things don't 'click' until I figure out the basics myself, but once I know enough to understand what was said... wham!

Most valuable souvenier I took home from BLADE was the suggestion to come here to learn how to use the GRS system my ever-indulgent wife bought me. :)

Steve,
Quite a few years ago a good friend of mine spent several months with Bill Dorrance, the legendary old horseman. My friend told me Bill was always hopeful that the people he was helping with their horsemanship and roping would eventually become more proficient than he was. Over the years I have thought back on that and wondered what a great world we could live in if everyone was as unselfish and willing to share as Bill Dorrance and his brother Tom were. About four years ago, I started learning to engrave and build bits and spurs. I was in for a shock because I soon discovered that the unselfish world did exist. I never dreamed there would be so much help available from so many high end makers and engravers. As far as I know there is no other occupation or endeaver where a beginer can get so much help and encouragement from the top pros. As my wife has said, we haven't made much money at this but it's been well worth it because of all the wonderful people we have met.

I must also add my heartfelt 'thank you' to all of you who have so graciously helped me and taught me (Rex and Sam) with such patience. Your love of this art is so evident in what you do. I understand this love because I, too, have it. I have so far to go before I even get 'good' - and I'm 'a-guessin' I won't live that long - but I will love it and try to help others until then. Thanks to all of you.

Don't cut yourself short Mary. If you keep an open mind and just let your lessons soak in with practice, you will surprise yourself with what is down in there, and with help you will get over may of the stumbling blocks quickly. I am constantly amazed by the rapid progress of today's engravers. Just blows me away, but is a constant joy, and that love you spoke of will always carry you. It is beautiful and wonderful is it not?.............Right on, ride on Mary............Ron S
