Eugene I made them my own for the back I used 3mm round titanium Grade 2 and weld them together with my PUK 111 Welder it needs a little time but it works
he said titanium Grade 5 will give the best and cleanest color in the higher voltages
That's interesting! I understand that grade 5 is an alloy and was told by friends who know more about it than me to stay away from alloys and stick with grades 1 or 2. So I wonder if grade 5 engraves well?
i'm not sure of the grade #. i was given a large quantity of ti that was said to be "commercial pure". it engraves with just mild resistance using a 90 graver, i used the quick etch. my colors, though nice, were not as brilliant. i have a homemade ps that was cobled from a navy radar facility. i also bought a ps that is controllable on voltage, as well as amperage. i've yet to use it on ti. i think the total adjustment in this ps will (hopefully) yield better colors. this winter i will find out.
