About transfering with the Epson printer & Epson transparency film, is the Durabrite ink what I'm looking for ? I've been on Epson's website & they have printers at a lower price than the ones listed on Steve Lindsey's site, I'm wondering if they'll work as long as they use the durabrite ink or do I need to quit crying and buy the more expensive printer. This printer will only be for the engraving because I like the HP I'm using for everything else. Any help is appreciated. Dwayne

According to Mr. White it is the Ink. I bought an Epson CX4800, Printer, scanner, copier. Once I got the correct settings into it it worked great.

Have you tried your HP printer? I use a HP deskjet 5550. You may have to try a few times but yours may work. Remember to print in black and white, NO gray. Some programs black and white is not really just black and white but grey also, so enlarge your image as must as possible and look to see if the black greys out. good luck

Dwayne,

I am using an HP 3700 series printer I bought at walmart for $29 It uses the HP # 27 black cartridge and it works fine. I have used it on both a PC and my iMAC and it works fine on both.

Go to walmart and buy one of the cheapy 3700 series and you will be doing well for not a lot of money.

Thanks guys, I'll try the black and white thing first and if I can't get it to transfer I'll get one of the hp 3700's. Mine is an old HP 722 & I love it for what I do, not an expensive one, and is way outdated but it keeps plugging along, so I hate to get rid of it. I'll try what yall have said. I've been drawing images and I copied Steve Lindsey's practice scroll he offered for practice and copied them with our copier at work and used MEK and transfered images ok but not nearly as clear as I've seen some transfers, Thanks for the help. There's plenty of info on printers and transferring in the sticky on the Tips archive.
