Here is 1879 morgan dollar i just finished, I carved it on a 1879 morgan dollar with the subject being a young confederate soldier, i wanted to leave part of the original design on this carving, so i used the back and lower part of the morgan,s subject,s hair and the ear , but recut hair..As the title implied it,s a tribute to a southern soldier...One of the hardest thing to do on a silver dollar is to get a decent field..

Amazing work. Even the background is impressive. I am sure that getting a field as flat as you have done is no simple feat. Thanks for taking the time out to share it.
