Here's a new ring that I did yesterday for a customer. Your comments and critiques are welcome. I know it could have been refined more, but he wanted it that afternoon, so I knocked it out in 2 1/2 hours. Not my usual pace, but he was a happy customer :)

Nice job!

Perhaps you could help a novice out with a few ring questions?

When engraving a ring is there an easier way to go around the band besides doing a small section and then re-aligning the ring in the engraving ball vise to do the next section (going around the ring)?

Is there a better holding device besides an engraving block for rings?

Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I like the ring very much. That is a very slick fixture Paul Hamler designed. I was recently engraving some ferrules and something like that fixture would have cut the time it took significantly. Must be nice to have a machine shop at ones disposal!
