Question: What 1911 to use as a canvas?

Perhaps I should share that I live in a civilized state, Arizona. Although considering that the state legislature apparently does not understand arithmetic perhaps I should question that.

If you are only interested in a slide to practice engraving, two sources are SARCO, Inc., and 1911 Builders. Availability varies. Right now 1911 Builders has nonfunctional slides available for 40. https://www.1911builders.com/product-category/blem-parts/ Sometimes they have blemished ones that are still functional.
SARCO has a cast slide available now for 15. https://www.sarcoinc.com/1911-slide-casting-compact-for-4-barrel/ It needs more prep work than the 1911 slide before engraving but is less expensive.
