Got the chance to try a twisted wire inlay on a mirror finish surface.. the wire is 0,53 mm, twisted by two 0,3 mm wires. :-) -

OIt may help you if you grind metal off the sides of the graver to make it thinner. This will also have the benefit of reducing the size...
