Here are a couple shots of a special project I've just finished with Rick Genovese. I apologize for the marginal photography (rushing to prep for show) and assure you the real thing is far more impressive. It's difficult to get just the right lighting for all the elements, but when it comes together it's amazing.
The concept is: "How much could be done artistically with pretty much nothing but the most basic form of nature: a simple circle?" I wanted to create something ultra-modern without being weird or goofy, and yet still somehow maintain a conservative, classic presence. I was striving for a juxtaposition of the real and surreal in an elegant exercise of simplicity & complexity. I'll leave it to my peers to decide if I've succeeded.
and i must throw in a big 'thank you' to Rick for taking on one of my crazy projects. it wouldn't have been possible without his creativity & mad machine skills. he is truly one of today's most underrated knifemakers.
